Lara's Cakes and Bakes

I was so thrilled to find a GF bakery just a 20 minute drive from me. I went in for the first time yesterday. The place was cute, clean, the staff greeted me as soon as I entered, then gave me recommendations of their favorite. It was such a delightful experience. Super friendly, helpful and welcoming. And the treats? Delightful. I ate them at an alarming rate. I also bought cookies for another Gf friend and she also had great things to say. I will absolutely make the drive to visit again and support a small local business providing gluten free goodies.

Her chocolate cake is amazing! My husband and I used it as our cutting cake for our wedding because I’m gf. When I screwed up and gave Lara the wrong date for pickup she still made it all happen to make sure our wedding cake was ready and beautiful! Side note, her gf scones are also amazing! I bought her Christmas set, froze some, then that’s what I had with my brunch while the rest of my guests ate pancakes! My husband, who is not gf, enjoys her treats as well! He’s not a sweets guy and dislikes some gf things from other places but always says Lara’s treats are really good! 😊

Came to find this little bakery when I was in need of a special birthday cake in less than 24 hours! Didn’t realize that she was a gluten-free bakery, but I took a chance, haven’t had much experience with gluten-free cakes. She was able to do a layered chocolate cake and made it look like a martini glass, an espresso martini to be specific. My daughter absolutely loved it so cute and was absolutely the very best chocolate cake I have ever had! She did a coffee, flavored buttercream frosting, and it was perfect! Probably won’t go anywhere else for cakes, this was hands-down, the best! Thank you Lara! 🎉🎂🍸

Wonderful bakery, so excited to discover them here! I had the most delicious gluten free cinnamon roll of my life. Soft, chewy, moist, lots of flavor, still warm from baking. The owner is super knowledgeable about allergies and even knew about Alpha-gal syndrome. She was very friendly and told us all about the bakery, what kinds of bakes she does regularly for her shop as well as what can be ordered. 1000% recommend Lara's even if you need to drive across KC to get it!

Lara made the cake for our daughter’s 5th birthday and it was everything! Everyone at the party raved about how it looked AND how it tasted!!! Everyone was floored that this cake was gluten free. Her bakery items are divine! The Fluffernutter cookie may be the best cookie I’ve ever had! We will definitely be using Lara again! 🥳
