2.24.26/approx 2p - This is our first visit and certainly not our final. Absolutely amazing! The flavors are very authentic and the ingredients are fresh; there's nothing Americanized about our meal. This okro has the correct amount of flavor, spice and consistency. The fufu is a heavy portion of smooth starch.... No lumps. Hands down this is THE best Ghana cuisine I've found in this area since visiting these last 6 years. The dining area was clean and the owners were very kind. Even the sobolo tastes great! ❤️💚💛
The food is great and authentic to Ghana. Paul was amazing with me and my mom when we visited. We ordered Waakye with Goat meat, Attieke and Red red (plantains with Black eyed peas in a stew) and we loved all of it. The portions are really good too. Ill be back for sure. For the 3 platters we paid $63 and it was well worth it.
AMAZING food but wait time was longer than expected. this small, family owned restaurant is serving up one of the best west african food i’ve had. highly recommend the fufu with spinach stew + chicken and the suya rice with goat. the jollof rice was a good portion and the fried chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. the eba with peanut butter soup+beef was not out favorite because it was fermented but the beef was good. i wish they had music playing in the background cuz it was too quiet for the amount of time we waited but otherwise everything was great. definitely coming back!!
The Suya Rice at Lapaz Cuisine is hands down the best rice I’ve ever had! The flavor is incredibly rich, bold, and unforgettable—easily one of the standout dishes on the menu. It’s a must-order. I also loved the chichi and the hibiscus drink, both were delicious. The service was impeccable—fast, efficient, and attentive. Highly recommend this place! One of the best places in the DMV for African food!
First time trying Ghanaian food? And it was quite good 👍 I enjoyed the jollof rice, but it was a bit monotonous after a bit. The fried chicken definitely helped. The fufu was quite interesting to eat, as figuring out the optimal hand method was quite fun. And the palm soup was alright, nothing too good nor bad. The star was definitely the fish, it tasted flavourful and we couldn't stop eating it. My only compliant is the loooonnnnngggg waiting time for food. Place your orders 1 or 2 hrs ahead as despite us being only 3 people, it took us around 1 hour to get the food. Also, it wasn't spicy enough. The chili sauce, jollof rice, and fish weren't spicy enough to make me want to keep on eating. It was just there. Overall, a good introduction to Ghanaian food? 7.6/10
