Lalibela Ethiopian Cuisine

My family and I had an amazing experience here last week. The place was very clean and the drinking water quality was amazing since they have a big water filter (huge fan of water filters in restaurants). The gentleman that helped us (picture) was so kind and attentive, he took our order and made great recommendations. He even brought a complementary cup of Ethiopian coffee, which I absolutely loved. We don’t live in Redding, we were just driving by, but if we did, we would come eat here often. Truly a gem.

What an absolute gem to find in Redding. Normally when we get new restaurants here they are some form of diner or fast food. Not this time! Something unique to our region with such amazing flavor! Give them a shot. You will love the flavor and the service! So glad we did!

What a hidden gem!! The food was very flavorful and it’s so fun to eat family style and try all the different stews. I recommend getting the veggie and meat combo platter and eating with your hands for the full experience. Great place to go as a family/ with a group.

The food was delicious, so flavorful and just the right amount of spice. I want to go try every dish on the menu. So stoked to have this in Redding. The family was also super sweet and you could tell how hardworking they all were! We were told they don’t even have a freezer or a microwave, everything is that fresh. We had the meat plate, doro wat and a hot Ethiopian tea. We’re recommending this place to all our friends and plan on coming back more than once!

It is a family run restaurant that serves good food with good portions. The owner who served me was polite and attentive. If I lived anywhere near this place, I'd certainly come back. And if you're passing through as I was, it's worth the short jaunt from I-5. By the way, if you're new to Ethiopian, don't necessarily expect a fork. I don't even know if they have any. Use the injera. You'll clean up. And... that's more food in the picture than you realize.
