La Stalla

It was an exhausting first experience. Our first mistake was sitting at the bar to eat. The moment we walked in, the environment consisted of obnoxious, drunk men, with foul mouths. From 4:30pm to 6:00pm that's all we listened to. It took us awhile to get the attention of all the servers/waitresses/waiters. People were vaping. I understand the holiday craziness but this seemed over the top. The food was very good. I will give them that. The workers were very nice. I don't expect we will go back!

The best thing we had was the extra virgin olive oil with bread, everything else was pretty meh. The next best dish was the kids’ penne alla vodka, which could definitely be improved by adding a bit more cream; it was a little too acidic. But oh man, the veal marsala was awful! The sorrentino was just okay, and the veal rosemary was a complete waste of time. Please work on your recipes, none of these would be hard to fix!

I was only here two times...but I enjoyed both my visits. Our servers were young and inexperienced, but friendly, accommodating, and hard working. The bartenders are very friendly as well. I rate the food between good and excellent. The portions are decent. The ambiance is rustic and cozy, yet classy...and their patio is gorgeous. On our second visit, we were lucky enough to hear their in-house "opera singer" sing "happy birthday" several times, operatic style. I think he works in the kitchen. Honestly, I cannot wait to go back. 💜

Not my first time here but chef J really took us on a delicious journey. We went in a group and decided to let him make a few family style dishes and it was really great. We each said a couple things we like to eat and we let him pick a few recommendations. The steak was my favorite and I was astonished at the flavor on the sear ! My food … none of it needed salt or pepper and that’s a real problem at restaurants today with bland foods but Everything we had was packed with flavor ! And the salad with smoked bacon , grilled peaches and a sweet balsamic dressing was out of this world ! Then we had this crusty garlic bread with a crab topping and spinach with cheese that was so comforting and satisfying. Fun drink menu. This is a 10/10 for us EVERY SINGLE TIME. The food is spectacular but this time our server was even better. She heard our needs from across the room without being asked. We only photo'd dessert... its the best part hehe
