Newtown Ice House

Was driving through Newtown today, so we got lunch and came for water icd afterwards! Very delicious!! I’ve only really had Rita’s and other generic water ices, so this was a real treat! The blackberry flavor was fantastic!

My Mom, wife, and I went to see Chicago Transit last night and decided to stop at the Newtown Ice House. My wife suggested that we do so and what a great decision it was! The man and woman that helped us were helpful, kind, and patient. I had a peanut butter cup gelati with twist soft serve and heath bar. It was fantastic! My wife had a coffee gelati and liked it too. Grateful for awesome customer service and yummy treats. Excited to go back!

Additionally, they offer a selection of specialty flavors, ensuring that there are no artificial flavorings and that the water ice is freshly made. In comparison to other commercial brands, we sampled the custard. Both myself and another individual can attest to the exceptional freshness of the custard. The water, ice and soft serve ice cream are good. They don't have a big selection of hand-dipped ice cream. Their pre-made desserts in the freezer are delicious! Definitely better than the chains!

They are open till 10:00 but if you go there at 9:50 you can't get the custard on your water ice. They shut the custard machine off before closing. Defeats the whole purpose of my going there.
