La Peña Horeb Spanish Restaurant

Stopped by here as I always do when I am in Virginia, which unfortunately, is not often. I love the food here, just as good as my NYC spots. I ordered pernil (pulled pork), with rice and it was so....good. I tried their flan for dessert and it was perfection for my taste, not overly sweet and a good thick consistency. My server, a young lady, was super nice and helpful.

They get 3 stars for the ambience and service. Full menu is available all day long however the prices and the flavor ain’t matching. Only thing that really was enjoyable was the salad. Beans had no flavor and were bland. 5.99 for order of green or ripen plantains and you only get half to one plantain so not worth the price and they are small. The flan is way too fluffy as it has too much eggs. Rice is dry. Place seems clean and with good music and you get enough chicken stew for the price. Not a place I would come again or recommend.

Very amicable personnel, clean and good music that make the atmosphere feel like been in the Caribbean. The service is fast. The food was amazing. The flavor of the food was great. A most come back place.

Really good food and nice people🤗 The Mofongo really went well with the stewed pork (a bit salty) and the burritos really was yummy and first time I tasted the way they prepared it! 👏

We were in the mood for mofongo and decided to try a new spot. This restaurant is small but delivers! It has a mix of Dominican, Mexican, and Puerto Rican items so you can definitely find something you'll like! We ordered some empanadas. They were huge! I ordered one of the tropical juices which was really nice. I got the mixta shrimp mofongo. It was delicious. We will definitely be back!
