La Morenita Mexican Restaurant/Grill

This was honestly the worst birria I’ve ever tried. The meat was almost entirely fat skin instead of actual meat, which made it very unpleasant to eat. When we politely asked for a refund, the staff first refused and told us that “birria is supposed to be like that,” which is simply not true. I’ve had birria many times before and it has never been served like this. After some discussion, she finally gave me the money back but told me she never wanted to see me there again. The whole experience was very unprofessional and disappointing.

On Sunday evening, I stumbled upon this marketplace/restaurant grill, called " The Morenita" which serves mexican original mexican cuisine taco, tortas, and flautas. After eating at the location, I was surprised on how good the food came out to be. The pupusas are so, so delicious that they offer variety with chicken, chicharron or shrimp.

Absolutely amazing food! Everyone was very friendly as well.

Tacos tasted great (chicken, shredded beef, and sausage). Never got the rice we ordered, waitress just giggled when we asked about it but never explained why weren't getting it. And we were definitely over charged for a bottle of water and two flavored waters that were 16oz but they insisted they were 24oz. Atmosphere: we define felt out of place as a white American family, but to be expected as we kind of went off the beaten touristy path.

Wow this place is amazing, if you know Mexican cuisine this is your cup of tea. Excellent service and the food is amazing. Recommend 100%.
