La Loma Mexican Grill

This is a brand new restaurant so there are some growing pains, of course. That being said, I went to eat dinner there on the second night they were open and I was very impressed. Every time I asked my waiter for something. He immediately ran and got it and came back, but if I didn’t get his attention, he did not attend to us, so I’m sure that will improve overtime. However, the food was extra extraordinary. Everything my wife and I ordered was excellent and probably the best in the entire Columbus Metropolitan area. Beware, my wife ordered patron margaritas and they were $24 apiece. Our bill was $109 and $48 of it was just her two drinks. So the alcohol there appears to be very expensive. Everything else on the menu is reasonably priced and since we live so close and the food is so good,

If you’ve ever lived in the Southwest, you won’t think the food is good here. It wasn’t bad. It was just lacking seasoning. I had the birria tacos and both the tacos and the consume were lacking salt. My husband had the hot and spicy burrito and no spice was in the room. The chips and salsa were good. Some of the waitresses are bubbly and friendly. The atmosphere is nice. The food is exactly what you would expect in small town Fort Mitchell Alabama I guess. It is a little pricey to be that bland.

The menu prices are high, and the portion sizes are small. They also don’t include tortillas, which is a major downside. The flavor is also a bit strange. The personnel does not know how to take orders. My orders are always wrong or missing something. In addition to serving dried and burned food. This place has problems. I prefer to go to El Sapos Mexican Restaurant in Columbus GA. Better prices, food portion, food taste and salsa is a lot better, great atmosphere and everything included. I prefer to take the drive than to go to Lomas.

We went at 6:00 and were sat by 6:30. We were given chips and salsa when sat and ordered esquites as an appetizer which was good, but did need a bit more cheese. My husband got the molcajete which was very flavorful. I got the beef enchilada dinner with rice, beans, avocado and lime. Both were very good and filling. We recommend the spicy and strawberry margaritas for sure, they were on point. Our server Evelyn was incredibly attentive, friendly and fun to have around. We’ll definitely be back with the kids for them to enjoy it.

I was fortunate enough to get a table and try out the cuisine. My girl had Maria's (tortilla bowl), and I had the 10oz Ribeye w rice & beans. Absolutely delicious. Cooked perfectly. The service was friendly, and considering how busy it was, the service was quite fast. This is a wonderful addition to the community with an inviting atmosphere. I highly recommend it.
