It was my first time coming here. I'm originally from NYC but live in Charlotte, NC. Anyways, but Chef V is the bombs! Her customer service is on point. They had a special so I ordered yellow rice with steak & onions and came with beans and tostones. I also got the mayo & ketchup sauce and that garlicy taste soooo good! I would definitely stop by again
La Isla Spanish Restaurant is an amazing experience all the way around... DELICIOUS Puerto Rican food, AMAZING service, and a very relaxing and even DELIGHTFUL atmosphere. I love the Puerto Rico-inspired artwork and decor!!
So glad I found this place. The food is fresh, well-cooked, flavorful, seasonings are well balanced and the atmosphere is warm, clean and inviting. The staff is very friendly. I had the yellow rice and beans dish with stewed chicken. They throw in a couple of tostones if you want. Delicious. Highly recommend. Yes, I would drive here from West Haven again. It’s worth it.
Went to the place as a casual lunch spot just as they opened for the day. Very good, freshly made food. Had their freshly fried chicharon, rice with pulled pork and beans platter, and honey (insert tropical fruit) habenero wings. All items hit the spot, especially the seasoned rice! Perfectly seasoned, not salty and paired well with the “jous” of the pulled pork and beans. Family owned restaurant with the owners giving goodadvuce what to try as a first timer. Will spread the word and will come back again.
Delicious. Enough said. The only complaints I’ve had were not food related. Rice, seasoned to perfection, pork belly was porkin’ and the cups were deliciously filled with shredded pork and their pork plantain cups, great. I could probably eat just the rice alone, but luckily it can pair with some delicious protein. The empanada I had was good as well and held itself well for breakfast the next morning. The restaurant is relatively small but is equipped with a handful of tables for those who would rather dine in. The parking lot isn’t huge, but I have never had a problem getting in or out in a timely manner. They have desserts there as well. I always ordered to go as I was always on the move. Got everything in a decent time, and staff will always greet you. The only problem I had was when I
