La Chalupa Mexican Restaurant

I had gotten the Texas Rice for take out and it was great. I had already started digging in before I took the picture lol. It was really good, really filling and omg the sauces have to be homemade because they were delicious. Everything came together great and I would eat here again.

Went to the restaurant, they were I guess remodeling it so food truck was outside. We ordered some tacos, got them not even five minutes later and the tacos al pastor were very hard to eat I think they over cooked it and they were dry. The tacos de asada were ok. Didn’t have the option to get grilled onions. Didn’t even have the veggies for the tacos like cucumber and rábanos. Tortillas were cold. Then didn’t get my husbands order correctly. Sad… last time I’m going there

3 Dec 25 4:30. Was ready right on time. Guy at counter was friendly enough. Ordered Shrimp Fajitas and Texas Rice. Been a year since I ordered food here and it was not good. The “steak” in the Texas Rice was full of gristle, couldn’t chew it, and it tasted old like maybe it was microwaved, regardless it was awful. Couldn’t see or taste any cheese sauce. The rice was completely tasteless. The lettuce tasted spoiled. Nothing tasted good. Def not worth the cost. See pics 4,5,6,7. Changed to 2 stars after owners BS reply. Dear Owner, thanks for your response. I was not suggesting that you needed to add more steak, shrimp, or chicken. My opinion is that maybe the steak, shrimp, chicken, chorizo, should be more equal parts instead of so very much chorizo and so very little everythi

My first time visiting this restaurant, & it was enjoyable. I was surprised to see how many customers were there having dinner, and plenty food everywhere. Which all looked good. Even as the dining room, which seats at least 50, was busy and happy, the two ladies working kept up with all dishes, plus take out orders. Which I applaud them for. My meal tasted great, and look forward to trying other dishes, from here.

I have been searching for a good, authentic, mexican meal in the 912/Savannah/Rincon Area. A friend told me about La Chalupa and now I have a favorite mexican restaurant in town. Great service, tremendous variety on the menu and everything I had was quality. Not Tex/Mex nonsense, real, authentic cuisine. I cannot wait to go back!
