La Casona Restaurant

This visit was very disappointing. We were trying to eat on a reasonable budget for three people, but struggled to find appealing options under $20. We ultimately spent $65+ on two juices, a water, a rice plate, a wrap, and a hamburger plate, which felt excessive for what was received. The wrap came with no side, the burger was decent, and the rice plate may appeal to someone with limited exposure to similar cuisines. Service was also uncomfortable. Our server, Laura, seemed uneasy interacting with our table. While we weren’t dressed up, we were simply looking for a quick bite before an active outing. As paying customers, that shouldn’t affect the experience. Overall, the value, service, and atmosphere fell short. I wouldn’t recommend this spot.

This is my first time going to there, the staff is really helpful and friendly. The portions are a little smaller than other restaurants with the same menu but still very savory.

Great service from Martha and very good food. Nice ambience. The grilled steak with green sauce was delicious! Love the decor with the wooden tables showcasing different regions of Colombia and their history.

I had seen this spot get a feature on the local news during restaurant wk and knew this was the time to check it out. Delicious food with a lovely atmosphere. The waiters were respectful and attentive. It’s very big inside and out with a whole other side where customers can purchase quick baked items, sandwiches, coffees etc then a restaurant with a bar and additional seating adjacent. They have a parking lot but it’s not very big. I thought it was a bit more expensive than usual pricing for appetizers and only 1 drinks. Very clean!

Came here with a colleague from the area for breakfast. North of Providence has a surprisingly large Colombian community, and this place was one of its go-to morning stops. The setup was split. A full-service dining room on one side and a counter-service kitchen on the other. Most regulars seemed to opt for a quick bite at the counter before heading off to their day. We went for the spread: chicken & cheese arepa, chicharrones, blood sausage, and a couple of empanadas. My favorite was the chicken & potato empanadas. They arrived just as we were debating another order. Fresh out of the fryer, hot and crisp, with mashed potato and shredded chicken inside. Chicharrones were in that Goldilocks zone—not too dry, not too greasy. Pro tip from my colleague: hit them with lime juice. Cuts the fat
