La Carreta Mexican restaurant

Ordered a plain steak burrito and nachos for takeout. The "burrito" was actually in a taco shell. I thought it was a joke, but no. The nachos were so stuck in the container they had to be cut out with a knife. We've been to the Merrillville and Schererville locations and enjoyed the food. This was very disappointing.

Food was excellent! Margarita on the rocks was one of the best I’ve had; although, they didn’t ask about salt on the rim and didn’t add it. Service was not good at all. Many times I ran out of water. There is no hot sauces on the table. Our food came and then we had to ask for silverware for everyone.

Definitely check it out on Wednesdays when Lidia is in. She did such a phenomenal job. So sweet and bubbly, it was refreshing to experience! Great margaritas and food!!

Nothing exceptional about this spot. Service, food and atmosphere is okay at best. Waiter seemed to be over worked and short on patience. I had a fajita and was not impressed. I would not return.

Great experience. The waiter was very professional and attentive and the food came out piping hot and on point! Will be back soon.
