Food: amazing food. I like the smokiness of the prok sisig. Service: attentive servers Atmosphere: good place if you're looking for a live band while drinking
Food was very disappointing. 1. We ordered the crispy pata, but it was soggy and not crispy at all. It honestly looked like it needed more frying. 2. The calamari ($23) was terrible. The coating was falling off and didn’t even stick to the squid. Worse, the squid had a bad smell and tasted like it wasn’t fresh, especially the tentacles, which were not properly cooked. My husband immediately noticed the smell, and we usually love calamari. 3. The quarter BBQ chicken (chicken inasal) was extremely dry and rubbery. My son couldn’t eat it at all. The garlic rice that came with it tasted old and was mushy. We drove almost two hours just to eat Filipino food at a Filipino restaurant in Queens, and this was a huge disappointment and a waste of money. We paid $128 for food that we barely ate, onl
If you ever make it to Queens and are looking for delicious Filipino cuisine you have to stop by Kusina Pinoy Bistro. Not far from the 7 subway line it’s super quick to walk to the restaurant. We were greeted by a friendly staff that seated us immediately. Once we placed the order there was definitely not a long wait. Which was great because we were so hungry. The food definitely did not disappoint. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. What great flavors. Also a wonderful thing is that they serve family style so you get to try an everything ordered. We even had room for dessert. Thank you again to the wonderful staff and chef for making the trip from NJ worth while. * Love the casual feel of the restaurant. Looked like if you came at the right time later in the night they woul
This place is amazing, food was divine, service great. I recommend it so much!
The food here was good but overpriced in my opinion and I could overlook that if they had decent service. The staff was sitting on their phones the entire time or watching the karaoke, and didn’t tell us that part of our meal would take longer. I wouldn’t have minded if they simply told us that, instead of making us wait until we finished everything else. The music was extremely loud and I couldn’t even hear the waitress when she was speaking. On top of that, they charge you 20% automatically and then expect you to tip again. I asked one of the waiters if they charged us already and he just stared at me wide eyed and nodded. Ihawan provides much better authentic Filipino food with better service, go there than wasting your time and money here.
