Kumari Restaurant - Federal Hill

This is the best Indian saving a couple of eclectic Indian restaurants for Mother’s Day and anniversaries. I’ve been coming here for the buffet because it’s fresh and not a heavy Indian dining experience. They do offer comfort options like tandoori chicken, chicken tikka masala, and braised lamb but also seafood, cucumber salad, and this incredible pickled chili “salsa” with a chutney consistency. So, the meal is refreshing with so much flavor.

Ate lunch there today---The food was fine-- small buffet shrimp and broccoli was really hot-- like a hot Chile relleno I once ate in Lubbock TX-- and I have had lots of Chile Rellenos.. They had hot tea, I actually prefer iced teas but I guess I could have asked for a glass of ice-- lamb had a seasoning I didn't like-- don't know what the seasoning was--- could have used second serving of bread-- not much service needed because of buffet-- Price was higher than I thought .. I was expecting $15 something and it was over $20.00... I will take pictures next time. some attributes might bring me back in like location and other but price is still too high for me for lunch.

Excellent food, they added a chutney sauce with chicken and we loved that. The noodles had too much curry flavor in it, but eventually the blended taste was perfect with medium spice level. Overall great experience, and they have desi milk tea cha! Parking available infront of the store, and price arent too bad!

Kumari’s Indian food is the best and most consistent I’ve ever had so far! I usually order the fish curry, and it never disappoints. It’s simply unmatched in taste.

We have been coming here for years and always for dinner. This restaurant serves the best lentil soup and meat samosas. We also very much enjoy their lamb dishes and Nan bread. It is unfortunate that we usually are the only customers in the dining room.
