We visited Kora recently and had a nice experience overall. The regular drip coffee was decent and had a solid coffee flavor. We also tried their signature pandan matcha latte — it tasted good and was well balanced, but the flavor was very similar to other pandan matcha lattes we’ve had at other shops, so it didn’t feel especially unique to us. We ordered the ube donut and the cranberry guava donut. The ube had a rich, fragrant flavor that we really enjoyed — that one was our favorite. The cranberry guava donut was also very good, with a generous amount of filling and a nice sweet-tart balance. Their donuts are made from fried brioche, so the texture is more like fried bread. We usually prefer something softer and more fluffy, but we can still appreciate the concept and craftsmanship. T
I wish Kora wasn’t as good as it was, because living 2 blocks away is honestly dangerous. Every single pastry is delicious and they are constantly coming out with new, creative pastries for holidays and the change of seasons. Not only are the flavors incredible, the pastries themselves are expertly made. To top it all off the owners are so kind and friendly and every member of their staff is always so nice and ready to give recommendations when you just can’t choose. I’d eat there every meal if I wouldn’t end up on a TLC show.
On my NYC bakery crawl, this was my 6th and final stop! My second visit to the lovely Kora. I was so excited to grab some pastries and share with friends this time as we flew up for some shows (but mainly to eat, lets be serious here). Kora is just an absolute delight. A bright space with large windows in the front as well as windows to their kitchen, it feels warm and welcoming. They have perfected blending art with flavor and we all get to be the recipients of that. Filipino-inspired, I love these flavors. Being in Nashville, we unfortunately don't have a bakery like this so Kora is a must when I'm in NYC and can make it to Sunnyside. The staff is kind and patient and let's you take your time to choose your pastries. And they are all so beautiful and delicious looking, you will probab
If it's your first time trying Kora, I suggest the ube doughnut and the ensaymada croissant. You really taste the ube and it has alot of filling and the croissant is so flaky! Those are my favorites. Put the croissant in the airfryer for 2 minutes to heat it up if you have leftovers. Be careful heating up doughnuts with cream fillings in the microwave since it will melt so I suggest 5-8 seconds depending on how strong your microwave is. I find the leche flan doughnut too sweet because of the filling but some people get that also. Skip the drinks; its not worth it. I didn't taste the ube in the ube latte, hojicha (smoky mountain drink) and pandan and matcha flavors in the pandan and matcha latte. On a weekend, I waited 30 minutes to get in. I suggest to go early especially since they clos
If you’re planning a visit to Kora, take my advice: get there early. I arrived around 9:00 AM, and it was the perfect strategy. At that hour, the pastry case is fully stocked with the best selection before the midday rush thins things out. Manila Cream & Pomegranate Cheesecake Danish: This was a standout. The balance between the rich, velvety cream and the bright, tart pop of the pomegranate was incredible. Smokey Mountain Hot Drink: Truly lives up to its name. It has a distinct smokey profile paired with a deep, nutty finish—warm, comforting, and unique. The ambiance is what really ties it all together. The space has a wonderful, welcoming energy that makes you want to linger. I loved the vibe so much that I’m already planning my next visit—I’ll definitely be bringing a book to settle
