Kona Grill - Woodbridge

I came to Kona Grill for the first time after seeing so many good reviews. The Wagyu fried rice was honestly one of the best fried rice dishes I’ve ever had. The chicken skewers were also good, and the pasta was surprisingly delicious. At first, I was a bit shocked by the prices, but the food definitely feels worth it. The staff didn’t seem particularly friendly, but there was nothing negative about the service either. The interior feels a little dated, but I can imagine the atmosphere being really nice at night.

Came to Kona Grill on a snowy Sunday night for dinner with my sister. It was relatively quiet because most people I'm assuming decided to stay cozy inside. We started off with having the spicy shrimp tempura and that was not a hit. We did not enjoy it. Something about the taste threw us off. Then we got the crab crunch rolls which was okay but I've honestly had better sushi at Shop Rite. Then for my meal I wanted something light so I got the Asian Salad. The Asian Salad wasn't too bad but overall the food did not taste fresh to me. The restaurant just did not give cleanliness in terms of the smell so I think that contributed to me not enjoying my food as much. Upon arrival, no one was present at welcoming booth. I’m assuming who showed up eventually was the manager, he welcomed us and got us the menu. He offered the menu to who I’m guessing is the hostess ( she didn’t seem happy) and she guided us to the seat where we waited for approximately 6-8 minutes before our server got to us. We gave our order and the food came out in a timely manner. Food was okay, but nothing to run home and brag about. Price for everything didn’t match the portion and quality of the food. My sea bass was greasy and tasted bland. I’m kinda disappointed.Only thing I was okay with was the appetisers. And even then, I have had better for cheaper. Maybe they having an off day on Valentine’s Day, which shouldn’t be an issue because the restaurant was empty.

I was referred by a friend after a late show nearby due to their late Happy Hour. Very nice atmosphere. Nice for a date night or friends out. I went with friends and I believe for 4 people each getting about three things plus drinks from the Happy Hour. 9-closing we spent under $150. It took a decent time to get the food but we did order a lot in all fairness. The server was great.

While our server was sweet, omg I would never have ordered after what we experienced. Our silverware was DISGUSTING. I showed our server and even she was grossed out. The knives and forks had food particles in it wrapped in napkins!!!! I went to the bathroom and all stalls were so nasty. There was a USED TAMPON with blood in the stall. This while waiting for our food. Can you imagine how I felt trying to eat my meal? I couldn’t do it. I ordered the pad Thai and begged to not have it spicy and if it was, please let me know and I’d order something else. Our server was told by the manager that my dish was not spicy. It was super spicy. I couldn’t eat it. My daughter’s sushi has brown edges I don’t even know what to do! I’m literally driving home and leaving this review. I want to go home and
