10+ Stars to Kona Grill in Eden Prairie! We hosted our daughter’s wedding reception here just before Valentine’s Day, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations in every way. From the moment our group of 45 arrived, we were given incredible attention and care. We had two dedicated servers, two managers checking in to ensure everything ran smoothly, and a personal bartender just for our event. The level of service was truly exceptional. Drove all the way from the cities to try this place and sadly was greatly disappointed with the quality of the food, considering how expensive it is. Food was heavily seasoned with salt. Not worth a trip or stop. Very slow service even though dining room was not even half full, just a few tables with customers when we arrived 1.5 hours after they opened. They didn't have prime rib per my first order, so server came back to notify me so I decided to change it to ribeye. Server came back a second time to tell me they didn't have ribeye, either. Which is truly odd within 2 hours of opening. Green beans are smothered in a sweet and salty sauce, overkill.

One of the best spots in town that has a little bit of everything. Also one of the best happy hours in EP by far if that’s your thing. Ask for Bryce as your server when you come in, you won’t be disappointed. Knows the menu in and out and better yet knows how to provide a top tier dining experience.

12/11 Update - We decided to give Kona another try after shopping at the mall. We went there for happy hour, and everything was perfect. Our server was very attentive. The managers, Nicole and Emily, came and checked on us throughout our meal as well. We will continue to go back as they are definitely trying hard to right their ship. I, too, went there on Monday 11/10 for the meal they offered veterans. At 6pm, they were out of all steaks but a filet. I figured that’d be a small portion where all the others are 12oz. So I decided to go with the sea bass. I bet it wasn’t bigger than 4oz. See pic. Although I’m appreciative of the gesture and thankful they gave something, it was disappointing. I used to love Kona. It was my absolute favorite restaurant. Then ownership changed and it all went downhill. On Feb 6th my husband got out for a much needed date night- its so difficult to get out alone having 2 little ones. The service was ridiculously slow. We even sat at the bar thinking service would be faster. There seemed to be one waiter doing most of the work. Food took forever to come. Our check took forever. We had limited time due to bedtime for kids. We decided to get dessert to take home andbtold the waitressthay we are in a hurry. We got chocolate cake. It took over 20 MIN! TO GO! No one even tried to hurry or apologize that it took so long to cut a piece of cake. When we got home it was a total disappointment too. It didnt look or taste appetizing at all. Attaching a pic
