Kizuki Ramen & Izakaya (Uptown)

The menu had several options including Kale noodles. Staff were attentive. We had the tempura vegetables which seemed like the oil wasn’t as hot as it needed to be to give the vegetables a crispness that is classic to tempura. The ramen was average.

Our food was great. It’s naturally very salty, heavy comfort food, but our refreshing citrus drinks and additional toppings like pickled ginger really balanced it out. The atmosphere in here is immaculate. It felt cozy but elevated and the decor was perfect for the izakaya vibe. I would definitely come here again.

The place is very clean- looks new. It’s a bright and fun atmosphere. The servers are very attentive, knowledgeable and nice. We had Willian as our server and he was fantastic! Loved the fun Togo bags. The food was very yummy as well. We had the most popular tonkotsu ramen - my friend had her spicy. I added another egg as I love them. Lots of options for food and drink. Dessert I had the waffle dessert with mochi type filling - so good!

Kizuki Ramen is really a darned good Ramen Chain. If you are from out of town try something local and unique. But if you are local to Portland then you really can't dismiss this place for its quality ramen, tempura, and chicken karaage. The atmosphere and decorations are super nice and very Japanese but new and modern. The ramen is always very tasty and filling. The Tonkatsu Ramen is thick in all the right ways. If you are having a date night then there are lots of great appetizers to treat yourself too. This location is nice because there is also a parking lot you can park in. Then after eating you can walk around the area and check out Zupans and other high end stores just for fun. Note that the parking is limited to use of the plaza's stores.

Things were good. It was just increeeeesedibly gross, off-putting and unsanitary to have so many vents in the room where you can see and feel the air flow coming out of them and onto you and the food in the table. Won't be able to get past that so we won't be going back to dine in unfortunately.
