King’s Southern Delight

I ordered breakfast, yesterday. Awesome taste experience. The Salmon patties tasted just like my Grandma, Big Mama used to make. The cheese grits were phenomenal. The Scrambled eggs were grilled cooked to order....they were perfect. I had been there for dinner, many times, but this was my first breakfast meal. Staff were very friendly, kind, and helpful. I will definitely be going back, again soon. Thank you so much!!

I had been thinking I wanted some soul food and wanted to come here for weeks. I use to come here for my ex husband ,myself , my daughter and her two sons. A few times we were disappointed because the food was bland and needed season but we still came back every now and again with our own seasoning in the car . But this time I came alone. I'm a Gig worker so I made me a quick $15 ready to get me a plate. The restaurant wasn't full of great cooking smells but the line was long. I really didn't see what I wanted so I choose the lunch neck bone plate with macaroni and cheese ,yams , collard greens and rice came under the one and half bones she gave me. The lady fixing plate seems hesitant in giving me another neck bone . One was small the other medium but both with no meat. I wanted to say

This was recommended as one of the best soul food spots in the Redan area, and I was highly disappointed. I asked for the rib lunch with mac and yams as the sides. The mac was flavorless, the yams tasted like they came out of the can, and the ribs were drowning in BBQ sauce to hide all the fat and dry pieces I received. I am not sure what is happening with the art of soul food, but this is not it. I read both Google and Yelp reviews, and most reviews were based on the service being bad, but they surely lied about the food, cause this doesn't taste like somebody's grandma was cooking, more like somebody just learning how to cook. I’ve been coming for years, I moved away so I don’t visit as much as when I stayed across the street. Normally, I have zero complaints but whoever made the pig feet yesterday (Friday), IDK if they was in a hurry or what, but it was VERY vinegary. It was still decent but not their best, like on other Fridays. I will return & try again only because this was the FIRST time in YEARS I was disappointed.
