We stopped by to visit the university. They were so kind and welcoming. The Kashmiri tea was delicious. Not to sweet, just perfect. They gave us a complimentary cake with it. That was so kind of them. The ambience is cozy as well. Will definitely be returning!

I had a lovely experience at Khyber Coffee & Tea House. The saffron tea was warm, fragrant, and soothing — a perfect, comforting drink. I especially appreciated the beautiful artwork throughout the space and the way the owners share their story on display. It gives the café a personal, welcoming feel that makes it more than just a coffee shop. Definitely worth stopping by in New Brunswick.

This was one of my favorite chais that I’ve had. It’s a nice aesthetic cafe spot to catch up with a friend. They also have a couple bite options if you want a smaller lunch. I thought that was ok, but the tea set that you can get here is one of my favorite tea sharing experiences I’ve had in the area. It’s a nice amount of spice and amount of sharing for two people. There’s also outlets so you can charge if you want to study here.

A cozy little spot in New Brunswick with a wonderful ambiance and excellent service. We stopped by Khyber for a quick bite after dropping our son at Rutgers and ordered cheese sandwiches with tea—both were delicious, though the tea was definitely the highlight. The order took a bit of time, but Ali was very apologetic and kindly offered us complimentary cake rusk. Overall, a great experience, and we’re looking forward to trying their ‘Baingan’ sandwich next time.

I really wanted to love this cafe, I’m Pakistani and I’m always looking for Pakistani businesses to support. My husband and I drove an hour from South Jersey with our baby to try it out. The food and drinks were definitely amazing, but the atmosphere and service was so unwelcoming and cold. It didn’t seem like a family-friendly environment; our son got multiple dirty looks even though he didn’t cry and really just snacked on his baby puffs (which we made sure to clean off the highchair). All in all, it came off as a gentrified version of a Pakistani cafe that exists to cater to the privileged college students of New Brunswick. Unfortunately we will not be returning, but if you’re a student in the area then I would give it a try. I imagine studying with a pot of their delicious Kashmiri c
