Customer Reviews
Our visit to Khaki Restaurant in San Ramon was a highlight for vegetarian dining, made even better by service that was way above expectations. Although we arrived much earlier than our 9pm reservation and had a bit of a wait, the host was incredibly attentive and ensured we were well looked after throughout the evening. Once seated, we decided to try all the vegetarian appetizers, and every single one was excellent. The Sweet Potato & Patta Chaat was perfectly balanced, and the Edamame Avocado Bhel provided a refreshing, modern twist that we loved. The Jackfruit Cutlet was another standout, packed with flavor and expertly prepared. Between the top-tier hospitality and the creative menu, it was a fantastic experience.
Had such a great experience at Khaki in San Ramon. The first thing that stood out was the ambiance — warm lighting, stylish interiors, and a very inviting vibe that instantly feels a bit special without being over the top. It’s a perfect place for a relaxed date night, a girls’ night out, or even a celebratory dinner. The food was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. We really enjoyed the Sweet Potato & Patta Chaat, Samosa, Parsi Chicken Keema, Meen Polichathu, and the Zucchini Ricotta Kofta — great balance of flavors and plenty of excellent vegetarian options. The cocktails were just as impressive, especially the Matcha Mule and Mango Mojito. We ended with the Gulab Jamun Crème Brûlée, which was a fun and delicious twist on a classic.
Finally - a true Indian fine dining experience! Khaki is a phenomenal Indian restaurant in the East Bay with a well-curated menu. The edamame avocado bhel and the ragda pani puri are great examples of starters that put an innovative twist on popular dishes while maintaining their authentic nostalgia-inducing flavors. The paneer pinwheel was a rich, creamy, delicious (and gorgeous) entree for paneer lovers. They also have a great cocktail menu. The staff were all lovely and very attentive. The ambience was great for everything from a solo meal or family outing to a romantic date night. Will definitely visit again and again to try all the other amazing things on the menu.
We truly can’t say enough good things about the dining experience at Khaki Indian Food at City Center Bishop Ranch. From the moment we arrived, the service stood out as some of the best we’ve experienced in a long time. Every detail was thoughtfully handled, every need anticipated, and the staff made us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for throughout the evening. The atmosphere at Khaki is elegant and elevated without feeling stuffy. It’s the kind of place that feels perfect for a special occasion, an anniversary, a celebration, or even a memorable date night when you want something that feels a little extra special. The drinks alone are worth the visit. Each cocktail was crafted with real intention, beautiful presentation, balanced flavors, and a clear sense of passion behind the bar.
Sometimes the hype gets the better of you. Walked in without reservation on a Friday evening and the hostess asks if we can be done by 7:30 PM. We were done on time and there were a whole bunch of empty tables. The bill was wrong, a dish that we did not order was added. That was corrected promptly. Now for the food, average to say the least when you expect magic knowing the lineage of the chef et al. I have had better champaran mutton elsewhere, flavor wise. The quality of the mutton matters too. The Parsi chicken keema was pretty good. Overall portion sizes are pretty small but I can live with that. My highlight was the gulab jumon creme brûlée. I was excited to see the owner in person and excitedly greeted him and shook his hand. For the background of the ownership and upscale price etc,
