A Valentines day (Feb 14, 2026) dinner at clove. Expectations were high given the 4.8 rating I saw in the reviews. We traveled roundtrip 55 miles from the fremont area. Would it be worth the trip? My verdict: "The Clove" was not worth the 1 hour 20 minute+ roundtrip drive. It didnt offer value for our money or time. The dishes lacked flavor and food was underwhelming. Wishing other diners have better luck. The Beginning: I called ahead to check if "The Clove" takes resevarions, they dont. Given the special day and it being the weekend, we were expecting a wait to be seated even before reaching the restaurant. It took 40 minutes to travel and we reached the restaurant at 7:25 pm. There was the expected crowd. The restaurant told us it would take 15 minutes to get seats, we not n
We recently tried Bombay Vada Pav and absolutely loved it—the flavors were spot on and very satisfying. We also ordered Schezwan noodles and gobi manchurian; while the taste was good, the noodles felt a bit on the oily side for my preference. That said, the place has an impressive variety of breads and a wide range of chaat options, which makes it tempting to explore more. I’d definitely like to try some of their chaat items on my next visit. Overall, a great spot if you enjoy bold Indian street-food flavors with lots of choices. 😋
I had ordered at this restaurant few times before on Doordash and was really impressed by the food and it's great taste. However, when I decided to go in person one of the days and eat lunch, It really exceeded my expectations. The server Yudhvir was very nice, cordial and helpful in recommending a really delicious item on the menu called Amritsari Naan and Chhole. The naan was so soft and flavorful with its stuffing of potatoes that it simply melted in the mouth. Chhole were really good as well and the dish came with nice, cooling raita, pickles and onion. I supplemented it with a very delicious and freshly made masala soda ( a fizzy drink made with fresh spices, lemon and soda). Not to add, the delicious Garlic Naan, Falooda Kulfi and Gulab Jamun that I took home with me as a to go dish
I’ve been here two nights in a row (or not exactly in a row), and I think this place has already won me over! Definitely one of the best restaurants I’ve been to, hands down! The food here is of an insanely good quality, and the price is also pretty reasonable. Everyone here does such a great job at making the customers feel welcome as well, and, again, the food is too good! First time I was here, I was with my friend. I had the paneer ghotala pav. Very interesting seeing how pav bhaji has the bhaji replaced with a paneer dish; it’s elite! Last night I was here with my parents and we got Masala Saya Chaaap, Malai Kofta, and a paneer dish (I forgot what it was called). It’s safe to say we all love it! Wishing nothing but good things for this place! Hope to come back here again!
Staff were super friendly - courteous, polite, and smiling 😊. Food, though... didn't quite hit the mark 🙅♂️. Ordered the spring dosa - sambar was overkill, not appealing. Royal Thali curries were just okay, didn't wow us. Sweet treats (halwa and kheer) were decent.
