Kc's Bagel Express

KC Bagels really fell short of expectations. They are usually so good. But today the bagels were dry, dense, and lacked the signature chew you expect from a well-made bagel. It seems they weren’t properly proofed and were likely boiled too briefly if at all resulting in a dull, matte crust instead of that classic glossy finish. The flavor was just as disappointing: bland and one-dimensional, with none of the depth that makes a bagel stand out. Several lacked a proper center hole and had an uneven, sloppy shape. Overall, they felt rushed and poorly executed. If you’re craving a real bagel, this isn’t it.

We recently moved to town and received many coupons for local businesses, which was very exciting. One of the coupons we received was for a free dozen bagels from this bagel shop. We had never tried it before, and were excited to hopefully confirm our new bagel place. However, when we arrived we were not impressed with the service. We asked for a dozen plain bagels, as we don't really eat any other bagels besides plain. We were also going to purchase a couple drinks and cream cheese. When going to pay, we presented the coupon and were immediately told that with the coupon, we could not have all plain because thats the most popular bagel. Instead, we needed to have a mixed assortment. This threw us off because the coupon does not state anything about a mixed assortment. However, they insist

The bagels and sandwiches are delicious. The staff are super sweet. So glad they are in Pequannnock. Easy to get to on route 23 South.

Hire someone that knows how to make a bagel. Bagel was tasteless, hard, almost a stale like consistency, and no butter. A buttered bagel should have butter on it. Not even edible. Threw it away. Should have known there were new owners when I walked in. Place was filthy!

Went there this am at 6:45 for a bagel with Lox. Got to my office to see that only 1 piece of lox on bagel. For 12. 50 cash (12.98 if pay by card). Definitely not worth the price as other local bagel shops give a better sandwich and for less. Also place was dirty. Only stopped there for convenience on highway but will try other places. Save your money and skip this place.
