Katonah Village Library

As a local business owner — I run Rolling Suds Power Washing, providing power washing and roof washing services throughout Katonah and Northern Westchester — I’m always looking for quiet, welcoming spots to catch up on work between jobs. The Katonah Village Library is one of my favorite places to do just that. The space is beautiful and really well cared for. It’s bright and inviting, with plenty of comfortable seating and peaceful corners where you can sit down and focus. Whether I’m reviewing estimates or researching something for work, it’s always a great environment to be in. The staff here are fantastic — super helpful, friendly, and genuinely interested in what you’re looking for. I’ve loved this library since childhood — it’s been one of my favorite quiet spots. Unfortunately, that changed recently when a staff member (a lady with curly black hair and glasses) asked me to leave because I had brought a small tray of sushi. Not a picnic, just a modest bit of sushi. It’s interesting, considering this has never been an issue before in all the years I’ve visited. I suppose enforcement depends on who’s working that day. Either way, it’s disappointing to see such a welcoming place take such a sudden turn in hospitality.

Open seven days a week! Families have the whole floor to themselves. No need to shush your little ones while they play. Lots of activities to meet all levels of readers and pre-reader tactile play needs. Access to the Serenity Garden will bring you some much needed peace if you are living with child induced interrupted sleep. Charming town with lots of local shops and eateries within walking distance.

Our Pre-K program goes to the library about 6-8 times a year. They absolutely love the library. They love Tina the turtle and the stories are always in sync with what we are working on. They also do a craft that they are able to bring back and take home. Thank you so much for making the library a warm inviting environment for the children. Katonah is very fortunate to have you!
