Kapaa Public Library

We had some time before our evening flight so we decided to check out the library (I’m a HUGE fan of libraries and love visiting them when I travel). We sat and read for an hour while my phone was charging. I appreciated the featured titles, the large Hawaiian section, local artwork and many community resources on the bulletin boards and counters. If I lived here I would visit often!

Air conditioned! That really matters from May to October. I like the selection of books, I mostly snarf the new releases. They do have a visitor temp library card. It is not open all the time, and hard to figure out when it is open online, so you will have to drive by and look at the posted schedule. There are some public computers.

Great selection of kids books. Members also have access to an impressive online database of ebooks. I come weekly with my daughter, and it’s fun to rent out new books to enjoy for the week!

Great library, offers variety of books, videos, they also have a section for kiddos🤙🏽 You can access to use computer and even print stuffs. Very neat, clean, safe & quiet. Mahalo🙏🏽

I have been coming to this library for years. Today i came to the library and decided to take a quick dip at the beach that is next to the library as i sometimes do on hot days before entering the library. As i began walking towards the beach i am immediately being yelled at by someone to move my car. There are crazy people sometimes that hang out outside the library so i didnt pay much attention and continue with my swim and return a couple minutes later to find a security guard and karen librarian writing me a ticket for parking in the library parking lot when not using the library. I explain to them that i am swimming before using the library and i get an rude irritated response from the karen that i cannot recall. This is not the kauai i remember. it is starting to become overly regula
