Kani House - Buford

Giving it a 4 star as it is definitely an older restaurant and it shows. We had a sushi platter and were sitting in the restaurant side away from the hibachi area - which seems to be very popular and crowded. The sushi was good but we have had better at other restaurants - to which I will rather return. Our server was great! Friendly, helpful, polite.

From the moment we walked in until the very last bite, our experience was absolutely outstanding. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and the staff delivered exceptional customer service - attentive, friendly and genuinely committed to making our first visit memorable. Our hibachi chef was not only skilled but incredibly entertaining, turning the entire meal into a fun and engaging experience. The food was phenomenal, perfectly seasoned, cooked to perfection, and full of rich, authentic flavors. We left completely satisfied and already looking forward to our next visit. This restaurant has earned a permanent spot on our list of favorites. We will definitely be returning!

What a wonderful dining experience!! I went my son and grandson. It was his first time there. The grandson is a very picky eater and Kani hit the sweet spot. He was thrilled with the chef’s table side theatrics. Most importantly he loved the fried rice! Everything was cooked to perfection. Of course, the price was right. Similar in every way to Benihana without the sticker shock!! In addition, there were hefty portions served to everyone. What a bargain! I’ll definitely be returning- again and again!!!

I want to start by recognizing Jose, our hibachi chef, who was engaging, entertaining, and did an excellent job. He was easily the highlight of the evening. Unfortunately, our overall experience was significantly impacted by how management handled a disruptive situation in the dining area. An altercation began between two women at the restaurant. One individual was clearly being disruptive, and management was notified but chose not to intervene. The situation escalated quickly, resulting in yelling and profanity in a dining room full of patrons, including numerous children. The disturbance disrupted everyone’s meal and created an uncomfortable environment. While disagreements between guests can happen anywhere, what was most disappointing was that even after the escalation, both parties

Im super disappointed in my experience here. I came here with my line sisters in celebration of a birthday and also with a 6:30 reservation. We arrived before 6:30, wasn’t seated until 7, and didn’t have our food until 8pm. Personally, I felt that this experience was based off of the color of our skin. Even though we arrived early, staff was not very urgent or prompt about getting us seated or feed. They sat us with other black people and they also took their time providing us service. They were not very friendly towards us and honestly I would not go here again or recommend to people of color. So sad that we are having to still experience racist motives and actions. I still waited, paid, and left with no issues because I knew that I’d be able to spread the word to people who actually care
