Kalaveras

I stopped by this Kalaveras to take advantage of their happy hour. When I came, they were not busy at all. There was tons of parking spots near the front and barely any other guest inside. I sat at the bar area so I could watch the soccer game playing. I got the spicy buffalo wings from the happy hour menu. I think it's a great deal because you get eight bone in buffalo wings. They also give chips and salsa as complimentary. I like the chips and salsa, it had a nice spice to it. My buffalo wings came out quick and it was good to me. When I sat at the bar, the bartender used a fly zapper swatter to get the small flies around the bar area. It would discourage some guest but it didn't bother me. The food was exceptionally delicious, with a plethora of good flavors and great sauces, presented in an appetizing manner. The establishment is very elegant and nice. However, the service, while polite, was merely adequate and lacked a personal touch. A welcoming greeting, such as inquiring about the day or occasion, would have set a positive tone. Unfortunately, the restroom had a bad odor, and the sight of a cook in uniform failing to wash his hands after using the urinal was off-putting. Despite this, I will return, hoping for an improved experience.

Kalaveras could easily be mistaken for a soulless chain restaurant that is all style and no substance. But it delivers so much more. The atmosphere is loud. Like a club, they're always banging reggaeton music, and screaming birthday shots of tequila is not an uncommon occurrence. You can definitely come to Kalaveras to get loud and have a great night. But don't sleep on the food. The salsas are delicious and fresh. All the menu items we've tried have been really nice, like they're coming from a much more intimate kitchen. I particularly like the enmoladas which are pleasantly complex in flavor. Kalaveras is definitely worth stopping in for a fun evening.

Our bartender Nina was amazing. Friendly, easy to talk to, and made great drinks! Service was quick and they made us feel very welcome the entire time. We’ll definitely be back!

I absolutely loved my experience at this Mexican restaurant! The food was bursting with authentic flavor, and the service was so friendly and attentive. What really made it special was the vibrant atmosphere – the black lights gave such a cool, almost otherworldly glow to the incredible calavera artwork throughout the space. It was festive, unique, and added such a fun energy to the whole dining experience. Definitely a must-visit!
