Kaito Sushi NY

Updated - 9/26/2024 We gave this place another try tonight, but both of us agreed we will NOT be returning. First, the staff was inattentive, more focused on his phone or AirPods than taking our order or answering menu questions. It took about 25 minutes for our food to arrive, and we didn’t even get utensils. I had to go to the server station to grab them myself. Our tempura was undercooked, and unfortunately, there were no wait staff around to address the food issues. The only person in sight was the sushi chef, who didn't know where the utensils were. It took another 10 minutes just to get our check.

I ordered a shrimp tempura roll, a spicy crab hand roll and spider roll and it was the worst sushi I’ve ever tried in my life. It was most definitely not fresh and it was so dry even with soy sauce. The hand roll was okay but after eating it I felt very nauseous and had a stomach ache. Unfortunately I will not be trying again. Worst $40 I’ve spent.

Terrible experience. I waited over an hr for my order and it was missing the teriyaki sauce on dish. When I called to see what the wait was for they said they had a large order.??? They why take all the orders if you can handle it. I won’t order from here again

During this quarantine my favorite sushi place closed temporarily, so i ordered take out from here instead. I was surprised it was a 30 min process to make the sushi, but i assumed is because they were doing everything fresh, since there seemed to be no orders in front of me. Finally sit down, to eat this order, and it was by far the worst shirmp tempura i ever had; a gas station type. The texture felt old and weirdly crunchy:like old cheese puffs. We also ordered sweet potato rolls, idk what this was but it wasn't sweet potato, and it too was tasteless. My last hope was the spicy crunchy tuna roll, that was neither crunchy nor spicy, but at least the tuna was fresh. It was meal, filled me up, no more than wendys would. And at least they had a good presentation. Thank you for the service,

A restaurant must do two things: first it must give you high quality food. Second, it must give you the food in a smooth and timely manner. The food here is... Good enough. The fish is fresh, although it's certainly not the best in the area. The service is... Awful. It took more than 2 hours an hour to receive everything in a restaurant that wasn't even half full. It seems that they prioritize takeout, which is unacceptable in a restaurant with this setup. I should not be able to watch the sushi chef make different rolls in front of me only for all of them to go in a brown bag and shipped outside of a restaurant. I don't care how good the food is if the servers don't bring it. To add to this, the server barely understood English. This place is extremely unprofessional, and I will make sure
