I am an omnivore but was here w my sister who is vegan and three other family members. Very impressed! The food was well done and surprisingly substantial. I had the Avo-BLT (I added a hash brown and the homemade pickled onions - yum!) and was impressed with the quality of ingredients and the care of presentation and assembly. The green smoothie was freshly made and the perfect texture. My sister was the only vegan but we were all pleased w our food. The owner even heated up some hot water for me for my thermos. I live in Maine but have a niece at UNH and would definitely stop here again.

I absolutely love this place. I’ve tried a few of their sandwiches, on gluten-free bread, and they were extraordinary. Fresh, filling, and delicious! The staff is always friendly and helpful, and the overall atmosphere is quite cozy… There isn’t a lot of seating, so keep that in mind depending on the day and time you decide to stop by. I love the art and stickers that they sell… It all feels very community oriented.

My fiance and I stopped by after a morning photo since he had been craving an acai bowl all week. Juniper Kitchen hit the spot! The bowl was massive, and I was extra hungry so we got the breakfast burrito to share. We are not usually plant based, but the burrito was delicious and so flavorful. We loved that they also have a few decks of cards! There's 3 little tables that can seat 2-3, and then a lil bar that seats 4. Metered parking can be found on the street or in the parking lot across the street/behind the bank lot.

I CAN NOT RECOMMEND ENOUGH! EAT HERE IMMEDIATELY …this might get lengthy I’ve been vegan for a very very long time 10+ years, I’ve been a foodie for much longer than that 😂. This is some of the best food I’ve ever had vegan or not! The flavors are incredible! I visited this place multiple times tried multiple items and each one was art …also toddler approved! She (age 2, picky eater) ate and happy danced saying Yummy every time we stopped in. I wish I could hire this chef so my kid would eat all the time. The service was incredible the staff is welcoming , accommodating, and so friendly ! Truly felt like we were eating at a friends house. I will certainly be back as often as possible!

Excellent local restaurant with delicious food and fantastic customer service. We live not too far away in Kittery, Maine and make the trip over to Dover at least twice a month just to visit Roots. I love the Blueberry Muffin smoothie.
