Juan's El Caporal

This place is a little gem that I drove by for 9 years. My mistake. My wife and I like food with a lot of flavor, this restaurant has very good salsa, fresh chips and the food was better than expected. We almost always drove into Medford because the reviews at a different Mexican place had such bad reviews. I'm ashamed to admit we could have been eating very good food at Juan's El Cappral but we just drove by because we hadn't noticed this place. Admittedly we have only eat there once but we will be back. Tip when they deliver the salsa and chips ask for the hot salsa and mix the 2 together ❤️. If you like a little heat . If you're hungry try the burrito supreme with steak. September 25,2025.

Oh dear, where to start...the food here is absolutely terrific!! The meat is cooked perfectly, and they've got the spices spot-on! It's a bit of a drive, but we'll worth it...truly!! Everything tastes so fresh and it is plated well!! 👍The price is reasonable, so bring the family!...(you can skip the margarita, only so-so.)

El Caporal is definitely a great example of the old adage “you can’t tell a book by its cover.” Driving up parking in a dirt lot with ruts and potholes you are accosted by a green building that appears to be painted by a crew in a hurry using whatever leftover paint on hand. Don’t worry go inside and a world of difference awaits you. Pleasing colors, plants, and decor immediately bring you into a comfortable place. The menu is much the same as small Mexican fare found in most places. We ordered typical dishes which while were not smash hits were quite tasty and attractive to see. The family atmosphere was permeating evidenced by the spread of ages in the customer population. Nice place not boffo but a satisfying experience that leaves you feeling that your time and money were well spent.

The original Green Box, come try this restaurant out and you will see why locals call it that! Authentic, longstanding Mexican restaurant in Eagle Point. Always friendly staff, always fresh ingredients and always busy. Family friends. Classic dishes. Adult beverages. Long time Southern Oregon restaurant, over 20 years with consistently the same great tasting food.

I love this place. I always order online and pick up my food. My food is always ready fast, It’s never leaked or spilled, and is always fresh and hot.
