J's Pizzeria

The Pizza was definitely delicious!! The owner was really kind. I worked in several restaurants in NYC and this is truly a great pizza place!!! Despite of the non-sense low reviews on this place. I'm grateful to have a place like this in Lake County where it reminds me when I used to stop at any pizza shop in NY and eat it on my way home. I highly recommend this place to anyone who knows about food!! Thank you, for serving us!! I will definitely be back for more! Yummy!!

Literally just left. They're very reasonably priced, and you can tell their items are made in house. I'm a chef, and it takes a lot to impress me, but their house made marinara was amazing. The pizza was thin, crispy, and baked well, without that garbage "pizza sauce" you get at main stream restaurants. 10/10 will be back. Definately recommend.

I love their pizza, the fresh, handmade dough, and real pizza oven makes the difference. Also, their Philly Cheese steaks are simply the best. Heck, they're from Philly !!! Maybe that's why they're so good !!! Jay and his crew are also very nice...So, I recommend this place highly. One more thing: Good prices, and specials !!!

Nothing Special... I stopped at J's when driving through town on 12/29 and ordered the lunch special (two cheese slices & drink for $5). The slices were HUGE (too big for even my appetite!) and overall, the pie was OK, at best. I was told the pizza was cooked NY style but I found the tomato sauce to be far too heavy on Italian spices and garlic for my palate. I could not taste any tomato at all. The decor is atrocious, but the staff was friendly, so that's why I gave this place one more star than I felt it deserved based on food quality & ambiance.

In my opinion this is the only real pizza place in Tavares. Nice family run restaurant with great prices and great quality. The salads are super fresh and the hoagies are very good too. You can not beat their lunch special too. I work in the area and go out of my way to get the food here. I also used to work in the pizza business for several years so I feel like I have some idea of what good pizza is supposed to taste and look like and this is it!
