So Glad We Stopped—What a Find! We were just passing through town and decided to pop into J.P. Werner Cafe on a whim. Best. Decision. Ever. First off, the staff was incredibly nice—welcoming and attentive without being overbearing. They made us feel right at home even though we were clearly just travelers passing through. Now let's talk about the food, because WOW. I tried something called a Dutch baby for the first time, and I'm officially obsessed. It came out in a skillet looking like a giant, puffy, golden pancake with eggs and bacon on top—absolutely amazing. I had no idea what I was ordering, but I'm so glad I took the chance. We stopped here based on Google reviews and were NOT disappointed. The cream sodas ordered were delicious. We had the blueberry Dutch baby, country hash and brisket hash. Each was phenomenal as was the service and the ambience. You will NOT leave hungry. Will definitely return!

This is hands-down the best breakfast spot in Cameron—and genuinely one of the best in all of Central Texas. We ordered the Rancher’s Dutch Baby and the Brisket Hash, along with coffee, and everything was outstanding. Service was attentive, friendly, and exactly what you’d hope for from a great local restaurant. They also sell pre-made baking mixes and spice blends you can take home, which is a great way to support a small local business even after your meal. If you’re in Cameron or just passing through, this place is a must-try. I’ll definitely be back!

This was a very nice place to dine, if you like authentic country style establishments. From the direction I came in, the town, many of the buildings and the restaurant itself looked as if they were closed. The atmosphere, music playing, and restaurant gave me everything I was looking for and I was excited to try the food! We ordered the Texas Sized Biscuit and Gravy with Scrambled Eggs as well as the Plain Jane Pancake/ Dutch Baby, 2 hot chocolates, and ended up orderingsome Dill Pickle flavored lemonade. The lower rating on the food is primarily due to expecting a pancake and instead receiving more of a quiche. The eggie-creamy dish does not pair well with butter and syrup. Great burger but we came for breakfast not knowing they don't serve breakfast on Mondays. Nowhere online did it state that. But the burger was outstanding. We'll be back.
