I am surprised how the librarians managed to curate a very nice collection of books here. Or maybe it is just fit my reading. A lot of how to and skill books for all kind of ages (finance, gardening, home making..., cooking, traveling), an extensive collection of contemporary nonfiction, nice corner for poetry with good authors (which is rare nowadays in public library), and a lot of fun, entertaining fiction and graphic novels. If you need more titles on any category, you can ask the librarians, they are very welcome to help. I found what I needed. The reading space is small so please keep your corner neat so others can enjoy the time here too.
Friendly employees, non toxic environment, fewer creepy patrons, not as large nor new as Yucca Valley branch, but less toxic. Don't lose or damage a book, they will charge you retail price for them, it can be enough to buy your kids a sizable addition of used books for their permanent collection. I strongly recommend you don't take anything home, read ths books there or have your kids leave them there and avoid the high liability.
Great, convenient location, extremely helpful every time I have been in there, really convenient access to computers when home Wi-Fi fails us. But… As in all libraries over the last few decades, there is absolutely no respect for quiet atmosphere, loud talking is prevalent… I give it five stars because that is no different from almost any other library in the country in the century.
I was not gonna write this but my blood is boiling due to this encounter. On June 24th around 1700 hours me and my wife walked into your branch to look around. My wife called me over to look at some DVDs and magazines while we were speaking softly in our native tongue, Tagalog, when a older woman told us it was a library and to shut up. When i asked this woman what rights did she have to tell us to shut up her response was that she was the head librarian of the branch and that she would make sure we were kicked out. We decided to leave than start a conflict but as we were leaving the older woman told us that next time we are at any government building we should speak English and not gibberish. But what pushed me to write this review was that while i was in the restroom the older lady told
A quaint little library with a decent collection for a small town. A handful of shelves with local history. Emphasis on contemporary fiction. The librarians are extremely courteous and helpful. An excellent place to spend the afternoon during the hot summer days. Public computers and wifi.
