Johnny Rockets

We went to Johnny Rockets during the South Padre Island off season and it was fantastic. The vibe was great, the burgers were perfect, and the fries, oh my. I don't know what they cook them in but it's been a long time since I've tasted fries that good. My husband got the strawberry and banana shake and it was obviously hand made because there were still chunks of strawberry's and bananas in it. An added bonus was the gluten free bun they used. It was not dry and crumbly but very much like regular bread. SPI has a gem here. You guys please keep what you're doing because next time we're in the area, we aim to come back!

We stopped here while on vacation while in South Padre. The restaurant was clean, waiters were friendly. The food was pretty good however I felt it was very small portions compared to other places. The burger were quite messy but still delicious. I ordered the black bean burger. The patty was very thin though. I tasted more lettuce and tomato over the bean patty. Overall it was fine. I'll stop by again. My daughter loved the chili but it was very little in the bowl.

My family and I enjoyed the food so much. The burgers were delicious! I especially loved the sweet potato fries. Thank you Ralph for your attention and great service.

If I could give it less than 1 star I would. When we walked in the place a had a little odor and not pleasant. Since we all had had previous positive experiences at Johnny Rockets but sadly that was a sign of bad things to come. Service slow even when we looked directly at her to get her attention, nope, nothing. Waited for food, service check on not existence, waited for check. Oh did I say none of us could eat our food. My Arnold Palmer tasted like water, return, my friends chicken sandwich was a true miss, made her not want chicken on this Island at all. My hamburger was yuck, something was not right..It really really was not a good experience!:

Excellent service. Our food was yummy and fast. Our waitress checked on us often and kept our drinks full. Fun diner vibe. You can sit at the counter and watch them make the meals. Restrooms were clean.
