John Allen House B&B and Tea Room

This is a months-late review. I wish I could say how nice the rooms were but they texted me on the day that we were supposed to arrive to tell me that the room had been double-booked and that there were no other beds within 20 miles of Xenia (big Ham Radio conference that weekend). I had booked and confirmed it almost a month in advance. They put us in a room in an old house across the street that they were hoping to renovate but hadn't really started (at a slight discount). We accepted because we were on bicycles on the Ohio to Erie Trail and 20 miles is 2 more hours of riding after a long day. I'm really writing this to cyclists to let you know to beware and check consistently that your room is booked. I'm sure it's a very nice stay, if your booking is solid. The house looked lovely

This is a gorgeous Victorian house that has been so well preserved and beautifully decorated by the host, We stayed in the Paper Moon suite which was spacious and beautifully appointed. We love period houses and this one is a real gem. Enjoyed visiting with the hosts who gave us the history of the house. |We were comfortable and had every amenity. Good, full breakfast. Definitely worth a detour if you love Victorian houses!

I wasn't really sure what to expect when I booked a room for my friends wedding, but to say I was blown away was an understatement. The owner, Sandy, takes excellent care of the John Allen House and it really shows. Not only is the house a work of art with it's beautiful architecture, but the staff here take care of you too. On my departure day, they made sure that I had something to eat before I had to fly back home, and they made sure that I had enough breakfast to eat the first morning I was here. I honestly felt like royalty while I was staying here. If I ever come back to Ohio, I would absolutely stay here again hands down.

Wow! Just returned home after a 5 day stay and let me tell you, the hospitality was over the top. We were treated to a delicious breakfast every morning, hot coffee and juice, water, tea, hot chocolate, snacks and baked goods too! Complete hookup for e-bikes for recharging and a safe and secure garage to store them. Very quiet and cozy! I would not hesitate to book again!

This place is amazing. Cozy atmosphere, friendly people. The rooms are beautiful and very peaceful. Breakfasts were delicious. Amenities comfort and security can not be beat by any place around town. I highly recommend John Allen House for your next stay. Very homey feel.
