Joey D's Oak Room

This classic American steakhouse is obviously a well-known Perimeter-area spot with lively atmosphere, visually striking bar lined with hundreds of bottles, generally upscale too. It is typically energetic and busy, making it a popular choice for group dinners and social nights out. During our visit with friends, the restaurant was very crowded, and despite a 7:00 pm reservation, we were not seated until about 7:30. We spent time at the bar, which looks great but felt understaffed, with slow service and little attention. Once seated, the space was cozy and well-lit. Steaks were solid but the calamari appetizer and the fish dish were not as good. Overall, I'd say Joey D’s delivered on atmosphere and steaks, but service timing and some menu items could use improvement.

UPDATE: I’ve adjusted my rating from 1 to 4. I never meant to harm the restaurant’s reputation. I just hope this review gets management’s attention and helps ensure proper follow-up with the staff. Andrew, there’s no need to make it up to us. I just hope no one else has the experience we did. My fiancé and I went to Joey D’s Oak Room and OMG—it was amazing! From the moment we walked in, Leila greeted us with the warmest smile and made us feel so welcome. It was our first time, so we asked for recommendations and ordered everything she suggested, and baby, it did NOT disappoint! Our server, Khalil, was incredible the most amazing smile—so attentive, kind, and genuine. He made us feel valued the entire time. We were cold at our first table, and he happily moved us without hesitation. His drink recommendations were perfect too! I have been to Joey D’s twice now and was disappointed both times. On this most recent visit, I was with a large group, which the restaurant was unable to accommodate even though we had reservations. Not to mention the manager was rude to us, acting as though it was our fault. Our server was adequate but not friendly in any way. The restaurant is poorly lit making it difficult to see what you are even eating. The food is good not great but with the other factors and the price, it’s a wonder this place stays as busy as it does.

Definitely recommend! Jasmine was the best waitress I actually ever had. Super professional, very cool and attentive! The food was scrumptious and arrived in a timely fashion. I would return for service like this.
