Joe's Old Fashioned Barbecue

Joe's is some of best barbecue in NC and their sweet tea can't be beat. Was definitely sad to learn on my latest trip that they discontinued the buffet, but I totally understand why they had to do it!

I have been eating at Joe's since I was 3 years old. So since the 80's, yes I'm old. I used to eat at the one in shallotte NC but that one closed down, so every chance I get I come to the one in whiteville NC. BEST BBQ IN A 30 MILE RADIUS. Staff is quick and friendly, plenty of seating, quiet atmosphere, great specials and prices. Don't take my word for it, go try it for yourself.

I live in Germany now but as a kid, we’d go visit my grandparents in whiteville and every single time I’d ask my parents if we could go to Joe’s for pulled pork sandwiches, hush puppies, and sweet tea! Still thinking about it til this day and when I go back home to Atlanta to visit I’m stopping in at Joe’s! Love their Carolina bbq sauce too!

Mediocre at best. I've lived in Wilson (Parkers BBQ) and Lexington (Lexington BBQ or Speedys). There's no comparison. Even Smithfields BBQ is better...their brunswick stew also. Gave two stars for the service. The ladies worked hard.
