Joe's Cafe & Donuts & King Cakes

I normally have a good experience when I visit but that didn't happen at all this visit! I ordered a dozen of glaze donuts & a order of glazed beignets. I asked were the donuts fresh before playing my order & was told yes. I waited longer than I expected for my beignets but I left, dropped off the donuts to my family! My mother attempted to eat one & it was filled with grease & wasn't able to eat it. She tooked them back & explained that they were extremely greasy & we couldn't eat them. They were polite & remade the order but again no one was able to eat them. My son bite it & grease was oozing out his mouth... Horrible experience....

I needed something quick on the way to our airboat tour and decided to stop at this spot. The parking lot was fairly empty but I still said, I'll try it. I got a half dozen mixed to include and original glaze, strawberry, chocolate w/ sprinkles, blueberry cake, glazed strawberry filled and a glaze lemon filled. These donuts are super soft and airy. You bit down and it's light and fluffy on the inside, not dowy at all. The fish wasnt battery but light and flavorful! I'm glad I got a few different flavors to enjoy on this trip to Westwego. If you're passing through and want to try something new, give them a stop by. You won't be disappointed!

We needed a beignet fix without sitting in the crowds in the quarter. And these folks delivered. Fresh, warm and buried in powdered sugar (the only way). Staff is super friendly, the restaurant was clean and service was quick. They also had fantastic apple fritters. Oh! And we got a King Cake to take home when we drove back to North Texas. And I got the Baby Jesus!!!! Woot! Thank you, ladies. You made it fun. We'll be sure to stop buy next time we're in NOLA.

Hot black coffee was what I needed and it was brewed just right. And the doughnuts were great and hit the spot and brought me through from breakfast the dinner since I worked right through lunch. Get yourself some Joe's doughnuts today.
