Jersey Mike's Subs

I tried Jersey Mikes for the first time tonight. I was greeted promptly and the guy that took my order was nice. The young lady and young man that dressed and packaged my sandwiches were nice. The cashier, not so much. I could tell that they were all somewhat annoyed with me because I didn’t know how to order with this being my first time. I ordered a kids meal and the cashier repeatedly asked me if I wanted the meal or just the sandwich… I clearly said “kids meal” several times. She then let me leave without giving me a cup for the drink or telling me that I also get chips. I’ll visit Jersey Mike’s again because the food was good, but definitely NOT this location.

I walked in and was greeted by the young lady who was cutting the meats and cheeses. She was very pleasant and welcoming. She even changed her gloves, which is unusual for this location. The cashier (a guy) was also very pleasant and had excellent customer service skills. However, the young lady who prepared my sandwhich was very rude and lacked every customer service skill known to man. I do not know her name but she is african american and pregnant. To begin, I told her that I wanted mayo on my sandwhich. She told me that was working backwards and that she doesnt work backwards. I understood that, but there is a way to make statements, especially to paying customers who frequesnt the establishment. I visited this Jersey Mike’s recently, and as always, the sandwich was great and most of the staff were doing an excellent job handling a long line efficiently and with positive attitudes. During my visit, there was an uncomfortable moment involving a young female employee with noticeable black diamond piercings in her ears and nose who approached another employee working the sandwich station. Her body language (sighing, eye-rolling, and visible frustration) made the interaction feel tense and noticeable to customers in line, and it ultimately disrupted the flow of service, as the sandwich maker walked away just before assisting the next customer. I understand that everyone can have a bad day, but internal frustrations should be handled away from customers so the positive environment this

The food was great, the store was clean, and even though the store was very busy, the line moved quickly due to the employees work ethic. Each employee was engaged with customers and made you feel welcome. Great lunch experience.

To go Order: Big Kahuna and Mike’s Chicken Philly in a bowl. The tastes of both were excellent. I do feel the bowl, although tasty, was a surprise. Never had a sandwich in a bowl with no “foundation”. I mean you’re giving up the bread for the same price as a sandwich, with zero compensation. It was literally just the inside of what would have been a sandwich… it wasn’t served on top of lettuce or greens or anything. Normally I get the wrap and eat it over two meals. I had sandwich filler and that’s it. No leftovers. Like I said, it was tasty a, but it needed something else. And for the record, it no way came close to filling the container… not even 1/4 full. I’ll probably go to Jersey Mike’s again, I’m just not going to order the bowl.
