Toured the house for the Wedding Dress Tour. What a delightful tour and our docent tour guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. The dresses and or wearer all had a personal connection to Jerseyville, Illinois. What a gorgeous collection of dresses from 1860s to 1970s. The tour runs on Saturdays and Thursdays throughout June 2022. The ladies in your family, all fashion designers, and the history lovers will enjoy this tour!
I toured the Cheney House & is a beautiful historic home in Jerseyville. It did rain and most of the vendors had to leave. I did enjoy the pioneer stew & the cornbread. There is also a very nice museum behind the Cheney house. The house is opened up to tour once a year.
Great local history & Lois is Genealogy is delightful. She's happy to help you find your loved ones!
So interesting. I grew up looking and wondering about this place. I moved several states away , but came back for a visit. It is so very nice to see what the historical society have managed to preserve !!!
Love the Cheney Mansion. Went there for "Tying The Knot" history of weddings in Jersey County. February 15, 22 & 29, 2020 12 to 4p.m. $10 per person
