James Pharmacy Bed & Breakfast

I was so excited to stay here. THEN, we found out that the place is FOR SALE. We were informed that the french cuisine and bakery was sorta "pushed out" due to landlord's desire to sell. Ugh. There's so much history with this place. I was beyond disappointed. There's NO BREAKFAST. It's basically a glorified AIRBNB, and clearly an afterthought for the owner. They provided a $30 voucher. Thankfully, the diner/cafe was GREAT!!! Staff was super and the food was good. It's in walking distance too. Management provided the cheapest kuerig coffee maker to accommodate coffee in the morning. It was better than nothing and got us through, but since there's really NO HOST other than via EMAIL, you can message them if you need more provisions for your coffee set up. Thankfully Monica is VERY respon

The James Pharmacy is very cute, and my husband and I enjoyed a lovely stay there. Our room was clean, and the bed was genuinely the best darn hotel bed I've ever had in my travels. The bathroom of the Katharine Hepburn room was both clean and gorgeous. This is a perfect location if you'd prefer to walk to most shops and restaurants in Old Saybrook as it's just blocks from some excellent places to eat. Below the inn is an adorable and delicious French pastry joint - you can't go wrong there! Check in and out was simple, and the management communicates well via email and text re: parking, check-in, etc.

Took my mom away for a couple days and stayed here. We loved it.Very clean ,bright room and location to everything was perfect.We also enjoyed wine and cheese in a very peaceful backyard.Will be back

We walked up here from our hotel and stumbled upon a real gem. This place has an amazing breakfast menu. The coffee is a french press, you can get lots of baked goods and their eggs served in crocks with various toppings (mushrooms, onions, bacon) is delicious. The service and atmosphere was very nice. If you have a large party, I would recommend a reservation. It was quite busy on a Saturday mid-morning.

Place is very warming and beautiful. The only downfall is the parking as it is very tight and limited spots as the employees downstairs use the lot as well. Monica was such an amazing host as she answered all our questions on best places to eat and visit during our stay. The bed was so perfect from the looks of it as you opened the door to the time we had to put our heads down to sleep. Bathroom was very pretty and bright with the nice glass . Water pressure was great as well.
