Jalapeno's Mexican Restaurant

Never would have assumed I’d be writing a negative review for Jalapeños, but figured I’d share for those debating on where to eat. I’ve come here for years, but they’ve recently updated menus and prices, along with portions. (No issue there, as the cost of things has gone up. You have to either raise costs or cut portions, realistically.). However, the last two times I’ve been has been a disappointment. Last time was a weekday lunch and they refused to correct a price they put in incorrectly. (Was annoyed, but not the norm, so we moved on.) Today, we went back with the family and the picture attached is a Presidente Fajita for One. It doesn’t look like a bad portion size, but considering you can go across the street and get double that for almost $10 cheaper is crazy. For those coming her

This is my second time being here and I love it. The atmosphere is great, the food good, there's plenty to go around. And you will always have leftovers.

Complimentary chips and salsa. Chips have good flavor 👍🏻👍🏻 salsa good 👍🏻👍🏻 queso is $5 for a small and we hardly put a dent in it… it was tasty though 👍🏻👍🏻 sopapillas $2 ea…I’d pass on these 👎🏻 Beans 👍🏻 Rice is meh 🫤 Ground beef is good 👍🏻👍🏻 Ranchera sauce 👎🏻 Guac 👍🏻 Pico 🫤🥵 Chimichanga 👍🏻 Overall the food is good 👍🏻👍🏻 Service… she didn’t bother to check on us but was easy to stop her walking past to ask for things we needed🫤 Atmosphere kinda crowded, kinda smokey from all the fajitas ( eyes kinda burned the whole time in there, ventilation could use some work ) Would eat here over Panaderia Villegas. We’ll be back for sure to try out some other things.

Really great tasting Mexican food. Warm chips and salsa. The best refried beans in the area. Don't skip this place if you're in the area.

This is an outdated restaurant. The sign is old, made it appear like it wasn't in business. There is a breakfast place Magnolia across the street, that place had full parking so we came here instead, I'm glad we did. Salsas have a good spicy kick to them, nachos are a good portion, great flavor, and the beans taste homemade, not from a can. Beef and chicken fajitas with grilled veggies/onions are a good portion, too. We couldn't finish it, so we had leftovers. Chips are fresh, I'm assuming they make them there. They didn't taste like the tortilla chips that are sold in a bag. We will be going back again to try the frozen margaritas.
