Customer Reviews
Decent sized Japanese restaurant with outside seats, sushi bar seating and dining room tables. Izakaya Tora accepts reservations, but walk-ins are just fine. Service was okay. They don't really check-in once all your food is delivered so you'll need to ask for water refills and all. We mainly wanted to try their Yakitori options, but they also serve sushi, udon, and donburi. Full beverage bar with drinks & cocktails for all ages. Appetizer - Chicken Karaage - 4⭐️ YAKITORI - KUSHIYAKI Tiger shrimp - 5⭐️ So good! Kurobuta pork sausage - 4⭐️ Pork belly - 4⭐️ yummy! Chicken skin - 4⭐️ lots of flavor! If you’re looking for the best Izakaya experience in West Hollywood, Izakaya Tora is the hidden gem you must try before you leave WeHo. This place perfectly blends traditional Japanese flavors with modern creativity — from the freshest sashimi to beautifully grilled skewers. Every dish feels intentional, balanced, and crafted with care. Omakase Sashimi – fresh, buttery, and served with applewood smoke (so good you’ll forget your problems). UNI Pasta – creamy, rich, and topped with Santa Barbara uni, tobiko & caviar. Umami bomb 💥 Skewers – tiger shrimp, pork belly, chicken skin, seabass… every bite perfection. The warm, welcoming vibe makes it even better — perfect for a cozy date night or a small group dinner. If you haven’t tried Izakaya Tora yet… you haven’t truly experienced West Ho
This is such a special spot that deserves so much attention! Although not everything is "perfect", my dinner was an amazing experience that definitely makes me want to return. The two girls working as hostesses/waitresses are super sweet and the chefs I interacted with are so friendly and fun! I ordered an assortment of items starting off with the tuna pressed sushi. I think each component is very well done - the tuna is fresh, rice is nice, and the yuzu citrus sauce is tasty. But the sauce was a bit overpowering for the roll as a whole and diminished the flavor of the tuna and rice. The crispy rice spicy tuna came out piping hot and crispy, a nice scoop of spicy tuna, and good flavor. Now for those skewers. WOW. The tsukune or meatballs were OUTSTANDING. I could've eaten 10 of those t
Went here the other night to check out their Dine LA menu and had a solid experience. The prix fixe was four courses for $55 and felt like a good snapshot of what they do. It started with a cucumber salad, followed by three skewers — pork belly, chicken leg, and chicken skin — then seven pieces of nigiri (you could also opt for the udon). The final course was their jewel box with ikura and fatty tuna over rice, served with small-cut nori, which was a nice finish. I had a 6pm reservation and sat at the counter. The restaurant already seemed fairly busy when I arrived, but service was smooth and attentive throughout. It also clicked for me afterward that there’s an Izakaya Tora in Las Vegas, which is one of my favorite spots. This West Hollywood location felt a bit different — the skewer m
This place has been my Japanese go-to in WeHo area lately. Whether it be after a hike at Runyon or decent dinner during day drinking fest at WeHo or before a night out in WeHo. The quality is great and the portions are huge! Also they definitely don't skimp out of the sushi fish and they always try something special like aburi method for specific nigiri/sashimi cuts to their square sushi (think musubi but sushi rolls). Moreover if you are not feeling raw fish, I love their udon and nabe dishes. And you can make you own meal as well. You can order some apps like eggplant and gyoza or salad and karage for a light meal instead of ordering entrees. The service is always great and the place is always clean and efficient!
