Inn at Montross

We stayed at the Inn since we had a wedding to attend in the area and we were drawn to the coziness and convenience of the Inn. From our arrival, Owen was so kind, welcoming, and gracious and helped us feel so immediately at home. Since we were on a time crunch for the wedding, he accommodated our schedule. The rooms were so quiet, cozy, and clean and we all slept very well. The breakfast was also fantastic and was a great start to the day. Owen has a great attention to detail that makes every guest feel welcomed and cared for. As dog lovers, Buster was also a fantastic host. My wife and I only live an hour away but decided to go down with another couple and hit a few wineries and then stay at the Inn and enjoy the Pub that evening. It is much more laid back then any other B&B I have ever stayed at. The owner Bob is easy to talk to and carries on an easy conversation. I can't remember her name but staff member from Demark was very nice. Our room was large including the bathroom. Very clean except for the blow dryer was sticky. The Pub was full with locals to see a very good band but Bob made sure he reserved us a table and even helped serve us dinner and drinks personally. The food was very good but then again I am easily swayed with tater tots. The breakfast the next morning was prepared to order and enjoyable. A very nice and relaxing place.

Can’t recommend The Inn at Montross highly enough! A perfect getaway from DC: Clean, cozy & comfy, & beautifully appointed guest rooms (all with their own private bath); warm & inviting lounge areas to relax with a cocktail by the fireplace, in the lovely tradition-rich bar area, or watching the world go by in one of the porch rocking chairs. The owner Owen (& his delightful dog Buster!) is super friendly & helpful, he’s a great resource for things to do! Enjoy a bite at Angelos, a brew at Northern Neck, a coffee at Art of Coffee - all terrific spots with good food & friendly service. For a weekend away, or hosting an event, this is the perfect spot!

We had an awesome time at the Inn at Montross. We were greeted at the door by the owner, Owen, and his sweet, adorable dog, Buster. Owen was so friendly, accommodating, and generous. He has quite a sense of humor too. We had a wonderful time opening Christmas presents with our daughter and grandchildren in the cozy living room by the fireplace. Owen had decorated beautifully for the holiday season. Buster was always in the mix. We enjoyed getting to know Owen and were treated like royalty. It felt like an historical trip back in time! It was the greatest experience and wonderful getaway. Thank you, Owen, for your gracious hospitality! Can't wait to do it again! Much appreciation from us, Sharri and Mike

My stay at the Inn at Montross was a breath of fresh air. A charming building on a great property perfect for a quiet getaway to decompress. The rooms are cozy and there is plenty of communal space to relax. The staff is top notch--I will be back!
