INDIAN KITCHEN (PUNJABI DHABA)

So I have never been to India but I have tried what I consider good authentic Indian food in NYC, London, Baltimore and now today I had some of the best authentic Indian food from this food truck in Gary Indiana. So for my friends who have not tried authentic Indian food, I would say it’s an acquired taste. It wasn’t till I graduated from college that I started to truly appreciate good Indian cooking and by “authentic” that means expect the cooking to be extremely potent in strong Indian spices like cumin, coriander, curry, cinnamon, cloves and fennel seeds. Most of the people I know from India and Pakistan have a very strong tolerance for these “authentic” Indian spices and if you’re not in a full sweat with your pores feeling like a mentholated cigarette after your meal, then chances are

My first time here I ordered lamb biryani it was a little on the orange side as far as color but overall it was very delicious meat was very tender too, the prices are very reasonable they made it like I asked not to spicy it came out perfect! The service was great as well! I'll definitely be back to try other things on the menu! Thank you! I ordered from here the other day and had to try it again! This time I ordered on DoorDash and got something different I got the butter chicken, it was really tasty! All condiments came with it ready to just eat!

The worst food you can ever eat. Lots of house flies and no one to clean the tables. Mix veg paratha had no stuffing at all and was burnt. Plain paratha was ok. Butter Chicken, Dal makhani & yellow jeera rice had so much food color that it became disgusting to eat. I wish they knew how to cook true Punjabi food.

We stopped by for dinner while on our way to Chicago. Great food, which was no surprise as many of our friends have told us about this place. What made the stop more pleasant was the exceptional service. Jatin was kind and kept checking on us. Even the owner stopped by to say hello. They were also very helpful in catering to some special request by our 7 year old. I wish we lived closer so we could come here more often. Highly recommend this place.

A true taste of India in the slums. It's a little food truck serving authentic food 24 hrs a day. Please don't come here asking for great butter chicken or Indian food without spices. I read some reviews on here written by people who have no idea what a Indian food is. Asking for it and then saying hold the spice is lol.. like going to buy a car and saying hold the engine.
