Illinois Valley Branch Library

I'm thankful for a great space to participate in a Zoom meeting. The librarian was extremely helpful and friendly. The wifi was dependable.

If I was rating this branch based on the quality and quantity of the books there, I definitely wouldn't give it five stars. However, the lack of books is not the fault of the library, but rather of the residents of the Illinois Valley. Despite being small and understaffed it's one of the best libraries I've lived around (and I've lived in Portland and Boulder). The staff is beyond kind and helpful, every time I've requested a book it has been acquired, and there's something to be said about a library full of mostly old books. I'm hoping that somehow they find a way to get reliable funding (and maybe some day I won't have to pay to have a library card), but even if they don't I'll continue to support them as much as I can.

Great selection for a smaller library with friendly staff

The Library manager is the most people loving person I have ever met in any of the Libraries I have joined not only here in Oregon but also California since 1960. She is alway smiling even during this unbelievable stress of Covid 19. Children just seem to be overjoyed to see her and I can imagine she knows them all by name and knows what books interest each and everyone of them. libraries are usually a place where one can take quite a long time browsing for a particular book or Audio book but you can always depend on Roberta to know exactly where she can find it, she is a joy to be around and Kudo’s to whoever sent this Jem to our Illinois Valley Library.

Great library! Staff is always ready to help. Getting books from others branches is a breeze too. Thank you 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 However, I live outside of the city limits and I have to pay for my card?? We pay taxes out of the city limits too???
