Il Vicino Wood Oven Pizza - University Village Colorado Springs

I want to like this place. The traditional crust is really good but they just keep failing on the rest of the pizza. The pictures are exactly what we received. Hardly any cheese or arugula. It was tomato on crust. That’s fine but not what we ordered. We try every six months or so and this is always the result.

Another good spot that I discovered while scanning Google maps. I always seek out a pizza place when I’m traveling, this one was a hit. All the pies are either 8 inch or 12 inch. Fresh ingredients, made to order & cooked in a wood fired oven, is there much more to say other than that? Cheesy, meaty goodness is a way I describe mine. My order was a meatball pizza & I added Asiago cheese to it. It was great, our servers were on point & were courteous. We went there in a group on 6 for work during a decently busy day, our food came out relatively fast, it was hot & it tasted good. They do have a special if you want to get a salad & 8 inch pizza, I chose the 12 inch, it did not disappoint.

Service and food were both great 👍 We shared a small pizza and I just wish it had a bit more balsamic on it than it had, but it was still tasty. We'll return to try something else.

Hey, not only is pizza good, but these guys that work there are SOOO nice. Abraham especially, this dude makes you feel comfortable. Some people HATE having jobs, but Il Vicino staff are happy and laid back, and professional too. Thanks Swing crew for always being so cool to a fat guy. The other guy I think is Dillon? very nice guy. But all the front crew are awesome and the food is ALWAYS fresh. So thanks to the cooks as well, dishes always clean. Backroom crew is on top of business

So we were at Costco and wanted eat somewhere other than the Costco food court. I’m plant based and wanted something in my realm. We easily walked to this place while Costco was putting tires on our car. The restaurant was well decorated and the staff were very friendly and attentive (visited our table more 5 times). I asked what they had for Vegan and they indicated they had a vegan cheese and a meat substitute. My spouse and I ended up getting the combination meal which included a drink, salad, and a pizza. The food came fast. Food presentation was great. Taste also impressive. I put down only 4 stars under atmosphere due to the men’s bathroom being a mess and having a hole in the wall. In general, everything else about the atmosphere was 5 star. What was most impressive…I would say the
