Iggy's Bread Edgartown, MV

We were lucky enough to find Iggy's open early on Fourth of July morning. There was no line because they are typically not open until later in the day. The shop itself is sun-dappled and very cute if a bit sparsely populated. We snagged a loaf of sharp sourdough along with a plain, chocolate and almond croissant. All of the treats and the bread were delicious!

Super cute spot and amazing fresh bread. We got the baguette, focaccia, and different croissants. All very tasty. It’s off season so be sure to check their sign for hours!

Such a great spot! Bread is amazing and is baked fresh every morning. They have everything from sourdough loaves, french baguettes, bagels, croissants, cookies and sliced loaves too!

The people who work here are very nice and the pastries and bread are perfectly well made but not all that fresh. I stood in line to buy pastries right after they opened and what I got was clearly made at least a day earlier if not more. The ancient grain sourdough bread had a similar problem. I’m fairly convinced that the reason they don’t open until 9:30 is that that is how long it takes for the croissants to arrive from the mainland. My advice would be if what you want is fresh and delicious croissants made on the island that you check out the Behind the Bookstore Cafe around the corner. Theirs looked both fresher and more interesting (and the coffee is good too!).
