Hy-Vee Bakery

This is my local store I do all my shopping at, but when will you all get new carts? I have the hardest time pushing them, and because it seems a lot of the wheels and belts on the carts are so beat up. It makes it impossible to push them without having to direct them or having really loud banging sounds which for a person that’s sensitive to that thing is very difficult.

Super disappointed in the bakery today. There were at least 6 people behind the counter, not one person asked me if I needed help. All were consumed in their own personal conversations, one standing next to me taking a picture of the newly places 2022 cakes. Not one person even looked my way. Finally I asked the lady that was decorating a cake if she could help me, she never even looked up at me. I asked for a single birthday cupcake and all she said was there are cupcakes over there and kinda nodded her head to where the 2023 cupcakes/cakes were. I told her they are 2022 and I asked for a birthday one. She just said we do t have any. Never looked at me, didn’t offer any suggestions or actually went to look. I spend tons of money at this Hy-Vee, disappointed is an understatement.

One of the managers said I was stealing and asked for my receipt witch I kindly gave over and reassured that there is nothing stolen. Everything is on the receipt. He went thru each item and matched it with the receipt. He said I am deeply apologetic and said he saw a black male about my size shop lift. These people at this Hy-Vee are raciest comparing me to a black person. Just because I’m black doesn’t mean I am stealing I will never go here again.

The people were so nice to me. I had purchased over 200 dollars worth of food and groceries from this store yesterday and had forgotten my oranges. I called before I came up to let them know that I had forgotten my receipt and they were so kind to give me the oranges. I honestly thought that they were going to look up the receipt on record but didn't. Thanks for believing me. I appreciate the service here.

We have stopped shopping here due to construction. The store is a wreck. The overhead music is WAY TOO LOUD. I've complained several times. The store employees are great, very helpful and friendly. We still frequent the Pharmacy. Hope to be back when store is fixed. Maybe they will finish before the Nieman Project
