Huntley Dining Room

Been coming to Big Sky for over 10 years and this is the worst the breakfast has been. Cold food (went right as it opened at 6:30am). They now charge you additional in your room rate if you want it (used to be included). No more omelet maker, limited selections. It was horrible. Thought it just might have been the day, gave it another try and then passed the final two days.

Don’t get me wrong; the breakfast is very good but the selection is less than it has been in recent years. (I get it that inflation has hurt this restaurant, too.) Our server for breakfast yesterday and today was Avery, who was very pleasant and took great care of us. Thanks Avery! That being said, the line to get into the breakfast was long and slow! Yikes! Apparently the mgmt company who runs this operation hasn’t realized technology could speed things up. Geez! Even an Excel spreadsheet would help them check in the guests.

Food was pretty decent for a breakfast buffet, the service was definitely hit or miss. Some days it was great, others ( when it wasn't very busy at all) fairly poor. Didn't get a refill for our drinks until we got the check and my husband informed the waitress that his soda was flat and that they probably needed to change the carbonation. She apologized and said she would get him another and brought him back another flat soda.

Breakfast buffet was free with a ski-and-stay package from Huntley Lodge. I think it is something like $35 for the buffet otherwise, which is a lot to pay even for all-you-can-eat. There was an amazing variety of breakfast foods each morning which provided great fuel for skiing all day. It was a little strange that the buffet was self-service but there were still servers for drinks, even though you could walk up and get yourself a tea or coffee. I absolutely loved seeing the sunrise come up over Lone Peak while dining here each morning.

Cheese steak was good Wild rice no flavor Elk chicken fry. Dry, tough and flavorless Gravy was the same Will no return
